A disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has a slim chance of forming into a cyclone over the next five days, although its track appears to be away from Houston.
A non-tropical, low pressure area has a 20 percent chance of forming in the northern Gulf close to the coast by Saturday. While the possible area of formation stretches from the Texas-Louisiana border into Florida, the area is moving slowly to the northeast, away from Houston and Texas.
Meanwhile, a tropical depression continues to spin off the east coast of Florida. That system poses no threat to Houston or Texas.
